Exhibits and Play

Museum professionals are working hard to ensure that exhibit content is open and accessible. One audience that many museums are interested in reaching is families with young children. Over the past few years, in collaboration with Sarah Jencks and Kristin Scarola, we have worked with a number of history museums building family-centered approaches to exhibition design and museum learning.

A critical component of this work is play. We have developed an approach and tools for leveraging playful engagement to engage children in content-learning in exhibits.
